Early Signs of Success?

Postby GldnMom » Tue May 14, 2019 12:42 am

My son had an FMT last week. We’re four days post-procedure and I’m looking for any sign of hope. For those who had success, how many days in did you know? Any early signs? He can’t tell me how he feels :(

I have had several FMT transfers. It is hard to tell at the beginning. The good bacteria take a while to populate. Some people have D, others have normal stools, and most have a variety. Sometimes D, sometimes normal, even C. I had a lot of food intolerances after c diff and my FMT did not cure that. The colon needs time to heal. As long as there is no return of the classic symptoms, you have to be patient.

After my FMT i had D two weeks despite the fact that i was keeping a bland diet and taking imodium. I tested and it was negative .I went on a low fodmap diet and found a good digestive enzyme blend and megasporebiotic and it got better although not normal. I am left with permanent damage (IBS) from all the relapses and all the Vanco i had to treat with , and nothing , not even FMT can cure that . Your son needs to be patient , FMT is not a miracle cure , he will get better but it takes time.
