Question regarding FMT via Colonoscopy
If the doctor notices polyps that need to be removed during the colonoscopy, is there added risk of infection (non cdiff) from the removal once the FMT is administered? I’m hoping someone here has had that experience. There is family history of polyps and if all works out, this will be my first colonoscopy. Age 40

Re: Question regarding FMT via Colonoscopy
I think you need to ask the doctor that. I think a person who has polyps removed and has their own stool in the system probably has the same risk, but I am not sure and it has never come up. Do ask before you have the FMT.

I did ask the doctor, or nurse rather, and she said there was no added threat of infection from the FMT if polyps had to be removed.

That's good to know. One less thing to worry about.
