6 months post fmt question
Hey all! Its been awhile which is a good thing! I am over 6 months post FMT without relapse. Although I still suffer from PI-IBS, it certainly has improved over time. Pretty much able to eat what I want besides lactose. I do have a question though. This may be silly but I feel more comfortable asking. I take IBGard for ibs symtoms and it helps a bit but I was wanted to possibly try VSL 3 since it is used for IBS treatment. Is it ok to take that 6 months after FMT? I know in the beginning following FMT you are not suppose to take probiotics but at what point does that not matter anymore? Thanks!

Re: 6 months post fmt question
I had FMTs and I still take VSL#3. If I don't take it, I notice a difference. I feel better if I take some. I have never been able to tolerate big amounts of probiotics because I have SIBO, but I just take part of a capsule in applesauce and it helps me. 6 months out is fine. Some doctors don't want you to take probiotics for a few weeks after FMT, but others say you can. This is long enough for sure.
