Anything is possible. Both C diff and norovirus can cause PI IBS, and you got the double whammy, unfortunately. It's unfortunately also possible that the noro gave you bad enough D to have destroyed the effect of the FMT. Definitely discuss your condition with your doctors to ask for direction.

Your gut has been trough alot , and recovery may be harder for you . Try to eat bland foods , rest , and give it time. Ask your doctor if you can take something to help firm up your stool , like a binding agent : Questran and ask about doing something about that IgA deficiency.

Re: Post FMT symptoms
Of course this all happens on the weekend...
I've been up every hour or more with this uncontrollable mucus. Right now I actually had an accident, then once in the bathroom had a normal formed bowel movement with more mucus afterwards.
The mucus seems to have a smell to it I think... I don't know if it's my c diff paranoia or not. Hopefully I can last another few days until the office is open.

Your gut has been through the ringer! So you've got to give it time to heal. 1 in 5 get ibs after a gut infection and with noro after cdiff I'm not surprised if things aren't great. You've got some negative tests and formed so I'd say that's a good sign. If Things get worse make sure to stay on top of it and discuss with dr as you don't want to be dehydrated. Hopefully things start to improve for you. I know at least one member that had d every day after fmt and he's ok and was negative. Sending good vibes your way

That does not sound like c.diff but its definatley not right.
If it does not improve it might be best to go to ER for advice.

Yeah, I am currently sitting in an ER bed awaiting result for labs (blood and stool). I was up all night no sleep whatsoever. BMs turned from normal to diarrhea to normal to just mucus.
But the pain! Oh my god the pain. I don't remember pain like this before. Wretched over in pain until the BM passes then I'm ok. It's awful.
I'm feeling more at ease since I'm here and the tests are in but feeling bad that I'm back here again. What a life...

It very rare for me to say a colonoscopy is the right way forward but with those symptoms I would want a definitive answer.

Yep! C diff positive! Feeling defeated. Starting vanco again...
Is it possible to become antibiotic-resistant from taking vanco for too long??

I would ask for Dificid. Vanco has not helped you much. It did not help me either and I had to get FMT more than once.

Re: Post FMT symptoms
Sorry you tested positive again. Do try Dificid as your next line of treatment , has a higher cure rate and if it's followed by another FMT in 48 h after last pill it would be even better.I know you feel defeated and discouraged but please know that it will get better , everybody gets better , unfortunately for some people it takes longer.

So sorry that you are going through all of this. I also think that you should look into Dificid. I hope you feel better soon.

Re: Post FMT symptoms
Well! Just had my follow up appt. scheduled my 2nd FMT for 2 weeks from now. This time we are doing the 10 day dificid course, 2 days off, then the FMT.
If this doesn't beat it I don't know what else will.
Doc doesn't know if my igA deficiency has played into this recovery process or not.
Praying this will be over soon.

Have you asked your doctor about IVIG infusions for your IgA deficiency?
Glad you can get course of Dificid and a second FMT , hope this will do the trick. Sadly , for some of us more then one FT is needed to get better.

That's great you can get scheduled with perfect timing. Your doctor's plan for you is what my specialist's approach after first FMT failure exactly. I would think although the C Diff has overtaken again, that you still have reestablished some beneficial bacteria from the FMT that you didn't have before the procedure. The Dificid won't kill off all of that. Sounds like you have a decent doctor, and you are very fortunate.
