How do you tell your FMT worked?

Postby richlin » Sun Feb 14, 2016 11:54 am

I've seen it mentioned a lot on the forum and clinical algorithms but I'm still a bit confused on what "cure" really means after treatment with ABX or FMT.

Does formed "very soft" stool count as cured (soft to the point that if you let it sit in the toilet for 5 minute it would evaporate?
What if the bowel movement has 40% formed and 60% not formed?
What if you are still going 2-3x a day (could possibly go more but you are holding it in)?
Consistently losing weight?

Cured means c diff negative. Consistency of stools can be all over the place. When I had my FMT, the doctor said that it takes at least 6 months, but closer to a year to have your GI system get anywhere near normal. Give it time.
