Re: 4th FMT and struggling
I've been having intermittent digestive issues like bloating, gas, abdominal pain, and a bit of nausea from time to time, but really no D so I'm thinking that what I'm experiencing is related to psyc drug withdrawal and/or stress from daily life. I've always had IBS and a sensitive system and one of the most prominent symptoms of psyc drug withdrawal is significant digestive issues.
I've not been taking anything except for probiotics (VSL#3, GutPro, and Lactobacillus rhamnosus) and Enteragam. Occasionally when the abdominal pain gets to me I will take a bit of Pepto, but only intermittently and very small amounts.

Re: 4th FMT and struggling
Starting to have issues :-( body aches, flu like symptoms, abdominal burn I jg sesation, weakness, fatigue. No consistent diarrhea, but it started with one epdiode Friday night with cramps and D. Just one loose bm since then. No fever either...I'm hoping it's a bug or more drug withdrawal. Supposedly drug withdrawal can cause all these symproms as well, whichh would mean that over the past 1.5 yrs if this isn't c diff, I may have gotten treated for c. Diff when it was actually drug withdrawal.
Anyway...sayin prayers...

Re: 4th FMT and struggling
Hopefully it's just a bug or as you said more withdrawal symptoms. I can't imagine that it's c-diff that's back. In any event, I know the anxiety that this brings on. Hope things get better for you and sending you well wishes.

So sorry you are having issues , although they do not sound like CDiff symptoms , one episode of D with cramps does not mean that you are relapsing .

Re: 4th FMT and struggling
Thank you for the encouragement. From all my research and what others have said, if I'm not having watery D multiple times a day this most likely is not c diff. Its the ongoing flu like symptoms that have been very difficult and concerning.

Please buy Dr Afrin's book about mast cell disorders. Never Bet Against Occam. Available on Amazon. You will find yourself and every symptom you are describing, especially the insomnia and anxiety accompanied by lingering GI issues.

Re: 4th FMT and struggling
So the flu like symptoms have been increasing and decided to get tested. Almost to the day 6 months out and still C DIFF NEGATIVE!!! So thankful, I got pretty emotional about it. Primary credit goes to God and also Dr. Shephard for his help. I'm going to call tomorrow and personally thank him. I don't know what the flu symptoms are, but don't have to worry about c. Diff.

Re: 4th FMT and struggling
GREAT news to hear you tested NEGATIVE....and Susan...you also!! Always so happy to hear the negative test results!!
I have had symptoms on and off, for some it lasts awhile. For me, I think because I was treated for 10 months, had 3 months on Dificid recovery has been slow. But I am finally starting to feel"normal" once again and it's amazing!
Give it time, better each day!

I think the longer we have been on medication, the harder it is to bounce back. Very happy for both of you with the negative tests. I had a lot of IBS after my FMT, less so after the second one, but it still does take a long time for some.
