One of our posters, sickofthis, contacted Dr. Colleen Kelly, a well-known C. diff expert. Here is Dr. Kelly's response. (Thanks to sickofthis.)
Dear Ms. Xxxxx,
I am sorry to hear what you are going through. C. difficile is a frustrating and debilitating problem.
I’ve been treating patients with C diff using fecal transplant for about 5 years now and have now treated over 100 patients with >95% success overall. I have treated most by infusing donor stool at colonoscopy, but have done several via sigmoidoscopy and a few recently via enema. I believe these are all effective methods.
I would be happy to discuss my protocol with your gastroenterologist or ID doctor and help them if they would like to try this for you. The links below have a map with FMT providers around the country (several may be closer to you).
I have treated patients who’ve traveled to Providence (with their donor) for the procedure. We also have some volunteer donors for patients that do not have an available donor…..That would probably be easier if you were to travel.
There is no special charge for fecal transplant (just the cost of the office visit and/or colonoscopy/sigmoidoscopy itself, which is usually covered by most US insurance plans). See link below to our practice website which has the most common questions/answers about fecal transplant.

I hope this helps you and your struggles with C. difficile are soon over.
Best,
Colleen Kelly

Medicare may pay for it at some places. I saw this today online about medical coding for transplant.
