Diet

Postby Bobbie » Thu Jan 30, 2014 1:38 pm

Some doctors suggest a high fiber diet after FMT's and FE's. (Beans, whole wheat bread and pasta, fresh vegetables and fruit, hummus dip. Google for more.) Don’t go overboard otherwise you will get very windy & bloated.

It is simply having a good healthy, balanced diet to feed the bugs so they can grow.

Initially, while doing the infusions and for a few weeks after, symptoms can be "up & down" as the bacteria settle in....then it is an ongoing gradual improvement.

Other docs. suggest a dairy and gluten free diet. Try what your doctor says to see if it agrees with you. We all know doctors seldom agree. When you are better, experiment a little and add foods back. Dairy continues to be a problem for many, and avoid excess sugars for awhile.
