I became infected about 3 months ago and was hospitalized for a week. The diarrhea remained (though less frequent) after my discharge and a couple of weeks later it turned to a full blown c-diff again. I visited a couple of specialists but they were not helpful. I live in the Los Angeles area and tried UCLA and although eventually they treated my with just increased dose of Flagyl and Allign probiotic, it was comforting to know that the doctors' at the clinic were familiar with the newest treatments for c-diff, unlike the specialist that I tried. Here's the address and they accepted my Medi-cal which most places don't.

Awesome! Just the increased dose of flagyl and the single probiotic fixed recurrent C diff for you, and didn't break the bank. That's fantastic news, and I know your post will be helpful for lots of people.

Great news and so happy for you!!!!!! May I ask what dosage your previous doctor prescribed compare to the most current dosage. As far as I know, 500mg, three times a day is the dosage the kills the spores in order for a complete recovery. Good luck!!!!
I ask not for a lighter burden, but for broader shoulders.

from what I know nothing in the world cant' kills the spores. they can only mechanically be moved. they are resistant to everything- bleach, hitn temp, and more. when cleaning outside the body, we are moving them mechanicly, and that i what do the cleaning effect.
One have to wait till they germinate, in order to kill the vegetative bacteria that come out of the spores

Thank you Roy.
Can you give me a link to specific sporicidal cleaning agents.
I really would like to clean thoroughly my bathroom , so i will not re-infect myself from touching spore and then ingest it.
And I'm allergic to bleach odor, so I can't use it,
So I don't know with what to disinfect. I wish there is an agent with Hydrogen Peroxide and Peracetic acid , that can be use at home.
I hope I will be able to order one sporicidal cleaning agents from abroad to Israel.

Re: 45 days and so far it's gone
I have vasomotor rhinitis, and such odor cause me nasal congestion, and I can't breath.
And it influence band on my sleep. So I really prefer to find an alternative.
I will search for an alternative, or will pay for someone to do it.
But as you said AThurston- we are continually shedding this spores. And I read lot of relapses are re-infection.
I found this wipes http://www.gamahealthcare.com/products- ... -wipes.asp
But they don't ship to israel, and only sell it in London.
I found industrial/ veterinary agents, but I'm afraid to use them.
I will wash my clothes and bed clothes in machine half empty, so there will be water circulation.

Noga ,long term care facilities, hospitals use a special disinfectant for c diff, darn't I can't think of it, you should be able to contact your local hospital and get info / assistance from their infection control director. Good luck.

Re: 45 days and so far it's gone
From a different perspective, I will report I was unhappy with UCLA. I called over there inquiring about stool transfers and was basically told that they don't do them. So, while they might be up on the latest techniques, they don't seem to practice them.
I eventually found a doctor in Los Angeles who does do them, but I haven't tested positive again.
