Well, after almost a year, and five relapses, I can finally say I've beat this thing. It's been over 90 days since my last vanco. Been a bumpy recovery and am still not 100% back to normal (some IBS days, but they are tolerable).
What finally did it for me was a long vanco taper combined with with kefir and followed up by Questran for 6 weeks.
Somethings I discovered during this 'journey' ...
1) Your mental state needs to be positive else you prolong and amplify your suffering.
2) In support of number 1, being under the care of a compassionate specialist does wonders for your mental state. I eventually found an awesome ID doc, with an even more awesome nurse, everything changed for me at that point. I went from thinking 'I would never beat this' to, 'I'm eventually going to beat this'.
3) Quality and frequency of 'trips' means little if it is not 'D'. I was all over the map, during the illness and recovery.
4) Things are different afterwards, but in a good way. I can't seem to handle high fat foods anymore. Perhaps someday I will, but no big loss. I was overweight before, and now I'm much more healthy. Maybe C Diff saved me from a heart attack twenty years from now.
Thanks to all on this board. This is a great support group.

Hurray, Josh! That's wonderful news! I'm so glad for you. I wish you all the best, now and in the future.
It was really helpful for you to say not only what worked for you, but things that you discovered along the way. That is so useful for everyone. I don't know what I would have done without Success Stories during my cdiff battle. Just as I don't know what I would have done without this site.
