IT'S OVER (for now)

We spend a lot of time talking about the bad news in this discussion group - here's the spot for the good news. If you've had c-diff and are now well, please tell us about it here.

IT'S OVER (for now)

Postby Christina » Fri Dec 29, 2006 8:23 am

Well, I did it. I have hit the 12 week mark. Hopefully, I don't jinx myself.

See Christina's article on C. diff. in FAQ-Articles Written by Posters. In it, she explains what worked for her.

She had one tough case of C. diff., tried many treatments, & is finally C. diff. free. Congrats. Christina.

I wanted to add (forgot sorry) that my treatments consisted of 400mg each of Polygam S/D.

The downside to all of this is that because these treatments are considered "experimental" the insurance company would not pay for any of it despite constant attempts from the hospital and myself. Each treatments costs approximately $2,400.00. This will be my next battle to fight!

Hurray, Christina! You have fought this beast for so long and I am really happy to hear that it's over for now! Your article is excellent. I congratulate you for writing it with the idea of making more people aware of cdiff. It's wonderful that you're going back to college in medical research. I know you will do a terrific job in that field, where people like you are so much needed. Have a great 2007! Hugs and thanks for all your support.

Good for you, Christina. You not only "beat the beast," but you were active in your own recovery and sought out new methods of help.

Hurray!

Congrats Christina! I am so happy to hear the dreaded Beast left you (with much encouragement).

Sometimes it feels like we are the landlords trying to evict an unwelcome tenant. They leave when THEY want to leave after reeking havoc on the way out.

I am proud of you for all the work you did to rid yourself of this unwanted tenant and so happy that your hard work finally paid off!
Vancocin 250 mg. 4 X daily, Bio-K+, 4 acidophilis pills. IBS, Type II Diabetes, A-typical Menieres. C. Diff. 6X/11 months til May/2006; recurred Sept. 26, 2010.
Take care, stay safe and be happy!
