Supersmurf has won!

We spend a lot of time talking about the bad news in this discussion group - here's the spot for the good news. If you've had c-diff and are now well, please tell us about it here.

Supersmurf has won!

Postby supersmurf » Fri Dec 01, 2006 10:08 pm

Well everyone, here goes. I hope I don't jinx myself....
Today is day 120 off the Vanco. I've had my ups and downs with a few scares in between but I think I've beaten the beast. I wasn't feeling so good for a while there a few weeks back, but I changed my diet and things have really improved a lot. It seems to be IBS. The internal medicine specialist I saw today also agrees with this.
My stool tests from a few weeks ago were all negative, but I think I will continue to test if things get iffy again for a while just in case. Still doing the probiotics but am slowly going off of them.
I will continue to post in the future, but I want to say a HUGE THANK YOU to everyone here who has helped me out. You really truly have been my light in times of darkness. This website is a tremendous resource and I am so glad it was here.
To those of you who are still battling the beast, keep fighting - it will go away. Be strong, dig deep and beat this monster.

Here's to getting on with life and hopefully a cure in 2007!

Sharon aka Supersmurf

C-diff from Clyndamyacin since March of 06 - 1 partial round of Flagyl, 2 rounds of cipro, 3 rounds of Vanco - last one pulsed for seven weeks, oregano oil, tonnes of probiotics and now on a modified monnosaccharide diet and looking forward to getting on with life :-)
