another success story with FMT

We spend a lot of time talking about the bad news in this discussion group - here's the spot for the good news. If you've had c-diff and are now well, please tell us about it here.

another success story with FMT

Postby Maddy14 » Thu Apr 06, 2017 4:28 pm

I got C diff last September in the hospital. I was put on all the antibiotics and none of them worked. Finally I had a fecal transplant. I am now C diff free!!! Medicare paid for the whole thing. They just require you to try Vancomycin first. I am so happy and hope that others can benefit too. There was a fecal transplant documentary on HBO in 2016 called VICE. Very interesting. You can probably find it on YouTube. There are several clinical trials going on now for other illnesses like Chron's, IBS, Depression and Parkinson's. This is happening because the FMT is so successful for C diff. 90% success rate. For those still suffering there is hope.

Congrats! Did you have the FMT at the same hospital where you caught C diff or did you have to travel to get it?
