We spend a lot of time talking about the bad news in this discussion group - here's the spot for the good news. If you've had c-diff and are now well, please tell us about it here.

FMT Success Story

Postby overit » Mon Sep 12, 2016 2:46 pm

Finally a negative test! I've had cdif since March and was officially diagnosed in April (after being turned away from 2 hospitals while on vacation in London). My GI prescribed vanco - relapsed a week after last pill, then 20 days of Difficid - relapsed 2 weeks after last pill and then a colonoscopy FMT. I had the procedure done in June and my Dr wanted to wait 3 months to retest since I'm part of a hospital study. I retested on Friday and go the call Friday at 9pm that I am cdif negative! While I'm still not back to "normal" I feel so much better than I did before and I know it's a matter of time before I completely get my life back.
I couldn't have gotten through it without my amazing GI and this board! No one truly understands what we go through like the people on this board! I thought I'd never be rid of this but all of you were right...it just takes time.

Congratulations on the negative test. It takes a while, even after FMT, for your system to get back to normal. Sounds like you are on your way.
