I'm a 30 year old female and came down with c. diff in the hospital following a c-section in June. (I had been given IV antibiotics for a small fever I had after surgery.)
I took a 10-day course of Flagyl, and relapsed. Next took a 21 day course of vancomycin, and relapsed. Then began a 30 day course of vancomycin which was to be followed by a 3-week tapering off, but my maternity leave was almost over and I couldn't deal with prolonging the disease and/or the drugs, and decided to get a fecal transplant instead.
Dr. Barry Schneider in Charlotte fit me in his schedule within one week. My husband served as the donor. Three weeks after the procedure, I feel terrific and am having 1 BM each morning.
Thanks for the support and information on this site. Caring for and nursing a newborn baby while having relapsing c. diff or 3 months was a nightmare. I hope FMTs will continue to help everyone in need!

This is good to know. I am abt 3 hrs from Charlotte, so this may be possible for me to do in the future if Dificid doesn't work.
