3 month cdiff free

Postby code3rn » Sun Aug 10, 2014 9:05 pm

Hello all-
It has now been 3 months since my FMT and my last bout of cdiff. 9 months ago I was literally at the lowest point in my life, suffering from postpartum depression and cdiff. The FMT truly gave me back my life! It was the best thing I ever did, I would do it again in a heartbeat. I would say I am 95-98% better at this point. I stay away from most dairy, but it doesn't bother me like it used to. I am back to working as a nurse in the emergency room. Some days I fear I will get it again because of where I work, but I love what I do and I don't want this illness to take that away from me.

For any one out there suffering, please know you WILL get better. Hang in there. There were days I literally didn't think I could take it anymore, and reading the success stories were all that kept me going. Also, educate yourself and be your own best patient advocate. Even as a nurse myself it took a lot of assertiveness to finally get the medical care I needed. Patience was also important but oh so hard to actually have. I had to wait 3 months for an appt with the GI specialist, and another 6 weeks for the FMT.

It can be a lonely and alienating disease, but please know you are not alone and there IS a light at the end of the tunnel. Feel free to message me if you have questions or need support!
