This is one of our most popular forums because it gives hope to others. If you are successfully "cured" of C. diff., please post here, tell us what helped you in your battle against the infection, and keep in touch with us periodically.

I am so thankful for this support group. They gave me vancomycin. I took it for 17 days. I followed advice from this site. I have been c.diff free for about 6 weeks now. I still take VSL#3 everyday to build up the gut flora. I drink Kefir, eat yogurt stay away from sugar. After the c.diff infection my immune system is weak. It's also cold and flu season. I got a upper respiratory infection and offered me Doxycycline. I still feel sick but better than I was. I'm scared to death to take any antibiotic ever let alone this close to recovering. Anyone have any situation like mine? Thank you.

Hi everyone! I was just reviewing some of the stories on this site. Funny, I can feel the joy in the success stories, and I can feel the pain in those who are still searching for a cure. And yes, it can be cured. As evidenced by these success stories. I am a medical professional. I see patients with C-Diff. in the O.R. many times. Funny, we treat it like a phobia. As if it can jump on our skin! But this brief story is regarding my wife's cure. All of the stories I 've read match hers. After three years of this battle, she had enough. So I consulted my friend who is a specialist. He mentioned FMT.
Yep, I've heard about it but never explored it. So I did. How can you beat a 98% cure rate? I was sold. She had it done. I was her donor. It has been almost a month since the procedure and she feeling great! So, I am an absolute believer in FMT. The studies on Fecal Microbes are amazing, and the potential for other cures is really just being understood. Honestly, if antibiotics and probiotics aren't working for you, you really ought to consider this method of treatment. A standing ovation for FMT!

Thanks for posting your wife's success story.

Your story is "spot on" in many ways. Many of us feel/or have felt like lepers when seeking treatment

We need more education about c diff - both in the medical and the patient fields.

Thanks so much for posting.
