barium test anyone?

Since c-diff is a disease of the "lower half", so to speak, we find that many of our members cannot refrain from discussing what comes out the bottom end. If you must do it, please do it here.

barium test anyone?

Postby carmen » Tue Apr 01, 2008 9:22 am

I had c diff in November of 2007, have felt pretty good since, but all last week the girgles, nausea, morning cramping kicked in again. I called my GI DR. and he wants to to a barium swallow test and a blood test to see if I am a carrier of the gene for crohns/UC. Is this necissary. Or has anyone done the barium test just wanting more infor from real people.

I had the barium swallow testing done during active c diff...it was a piece of cake. I, too, suffer from really bad nausea, but I was able to hold it down and keep it down, and no problem with passing it. It doesn't taste that bad, realy. I was glad I had it done; reassured me about my colon (though I am having sigmoidoscopy this week). The best of luck to you and take care...please let us know how it goes...Karen
