Stool consistency

Since c-diff is a disease of the "lower half", so to speak, we find that many of our members cannot refrain from discussing what comes out the bottom end. If you must do it, please do it here.

Stool consistency

Postby Judy M. » Wed May 30, 2007 11:33 am

Is the "shredded" consistency I am seeing related to the Flagyl or Vancomycin . . . or should that consistency change to "normal" as my C. diff colitis improves (but while I'm still on the antibiotics)?

Thanks!

I think we are all different in our responses. On Flagyl or vanco I always had very loose consistency. When I started pulsing off of vanco was when my consistency started to become more normal. Good luck.

It sounds as though the antibiotics themselves cause the consistency change then . . . maybe. :-) When I went off the Flagyl the first time, I did have a couple of "normal" days . . . and then all heck broke loose!
