Blood in BM at end of vanco course?

Since c-diff is a disease of the "lower half", so to speak, we find that many of our members cannot refrain from discussing what comes out the bottom end. If you must do it, please do it here.

Blood in BM at end of vanco course?

Postby poppy86 » Mon Apr 06, 2020 7:01 pm

I'm on day 10 of Vancomycin (of 14 days), and sometimes I still see a fair amount of blood in my poop. I went three times so far today, and the third time was more bloody. Solid and more intact, but still bloody, and it still has the smell. The doctor said it will take some time for the irritation in my colon to heal up. It's just worrisome to see. Anyone have experience with this? Thanks.

Blood is concerning . It may be just hemmorrhoids or a fissure but you need to tell that to your doctor , or go to proctologist. If the stool is formed and solid it may not have anything to do with Cdiff.

Agree with Georgina. Seeing red blood in your stool is a reason to notify your dr and let him make a determination of how to proceed.
