Diarrhea vs loose stool

Since c-diff is a disease of the "lower half", so to speak, we find that many of our members cannot refrain from discussing what comes out the bottom end. If you must do it, please do it here.

Diarrhea vs loose stool

Postby TonyG » Sun Dec 22, 2019 5:51 pm

I’m confused about what differentiates true diarrhea vs. loose stool. What do you consider one vs the other? From what I understand the vancomycin I’m on should eliminate diarrhea, and my bms are certainly less uncomfortable, but far from a formed “normal” stool. This is the TMI section, feel free to hit me with details.
33 year old male, first diagnosis of C Diff, currently on 1st Vanco regimen.

Google "Bristol stool chart"
Basically poop in a bowl and if it flows its D, if it heaps in a splodge its semi formed.
