I went to the ER yesterday with so much pain. They couldn't tell me what it is. I did see a colon\rectal specialist awhile back and he didn't see anything.
I feel something terrible went wrong during the FMT and now I have an infection in the prostate and maybe the rectum. Maybe e-coli, which is worse than c-diff and involves multiple antibiotics that cause c-diff relapse. An worse, there is no urologist to see me until March. A really bad situation that I've put myself in by having the elective FMT.

If you think you have e coli or another pathogen, ask your doctor to run a stool culture. Do you have diverticuli? Those can be quite painful too.

Your Dr did report internal hems, if they are inflamed they could be to blame for all your problems., even back and leg pain.
You had similar pains before your FMT so it's doubtful if that's the cause.
E.coli is another very common gut bug and a positive test does not mean automatic treatment.
I think it 7 out of 10 healthy people carry E.coli and many carry staph and strep.

I think you are letting your anxiety run away with you. Try to stay calm. You have seen multiple drs. I think the only thing left to do to rule out anything more serious than internal hems might be to do a stool culture. If that is negative be assured it is the hems and ask for a prescription and do the sitz baths.
They can be extremely painful. And as Roy said, you had the pain before the FMT so this is not from that. You have been assured of that several times so try to believe and look for the actual cause. This illness tends to escalate anxiety.

Re: Inflamation Down There
I am submitting a full stool culture test tomorrow. I might also say I have erectile issues such that it doesn't work anymore (didn't have this issue before). The pain is not hems - internal hems don't cause this type of pain - when I was in the ER on morphine I still had pain next to the tailbone. I believe this is an infection that has been in play for weeks and I've been chasing the wrong causes and various specialists and doctors tell me it is nothing serious.

The ER should have done full lab on you which will at least point to infection if your WBC was elevated, you can call and get a copy of all your lab. You may need to go through medical records.
Possibly see the colorectal specialist again, if you have seen on in the past they should be able to get you in quickly
Sorry you are going through all of this!

Hi, so sorry you are going through this distress and were not helped to determine a cause even at the ER. I wanted to add many hospitals now even have online patient portals from which you can view all your lab results. I am able to view my lab work from my local hospital lab through the LabCorp patient portal. Even if it comes down to having to go get a physical copy, it’s definitely a good idea for you to get your hands on your own lab results for review.

Yes the lab sheet says WBC was normal. Nothing swollen or enlarged.
Some posters are correct in saying that the prostate condition\possible infection may have pre-existed and was not caused by the FMT.
Another note on the FMT, I have D about three times a day now and terrible gas. My bowels were in better shape I think before the FMT, minus the c-diff of course.

FrankS: From the National Institutes of Health article titled "Fecal Microbiota Transplantation: Current Applications, Effectiveness, and Future Perspectives"
===> "The human gut microbiota is complex community of microorganisms, which include 100 trillion bacteria, quadrillion viruses, fungi, parasites, and archaea." Link: https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC4895930/ <===
You could be right that something went wrong with your FMT. While FMT has been highly successful, the human gut microbiota is extremely complex with a variety of organisms, some of which could be harmful to others while not being harmful to the one contributing the fecal material. In other words there could be some microorganisms that they guy who contributed built up immunity, but you were not immune.
The question is, what can you do about it? Is it possible to test for a variety of parasites, or fungi or viruses?
Have you been to an infectious disease specialist?

Hi FrankS
I agree with Bob,and also if you read past posts there have been a number of posters who have had 2 maybe even three FMTs.Based on from what I read ,sometimes
Cdiff hides in the small intestine, and thats when it may come to upper delivery with the new fecal pills.
