Morning BM

Since c-diff is a disease of the "lower half", so to speak, we find that many of our members cannot refrain from discussing what comes out the bottom end. If you must do it, please do it here.

Morning BM

Postby m60 » Sat Jun 24, 2017 8:41 am

After dealing with H pylori teartments for a year massive amounts of antibiotics I finally tested negative for h pylori. But for the last month nonstop diarrhea after the last treatment went to my doctor he said it could be c-diff and put me on 7 Days of flagyl. Since the starting of flagyl diarrhea has stopped and BM are now fluffy little pieces that sink to the bottom in the morning and the rest of the day are semi formed but come apart when you flush. I am sorry for the graphic part of this post.

Make sure your doctor orders a stool sample, flagyl may not do the job if it is C. diff.

I am not going 5 or 6 anymore. Its only 1 or 2 times in the morning. And anything later is formed but comes apart when you flush.

Things should improve while on medication. Keep in mind you were not tested or at least have not mentioned that in your post so it's not clear you have it.
Once you have completed the antibiotic, you may just recover. If not, you will need to wait and then be tested. I would recommend seeing a GI if you were to have symptoms again. For initial diagnosis, there should always be a Positive CDIFF test before any treatment.

You will know if you need to be tested after flagyl, the D will come back with a vengeance and your symptoms will get worse. I also recommend gastro specialist and find it weird they didn't do a test to get it confirmed. Gastro should be much more thorough.

Started having cramps in my left side and back. Went to my Dr today and got blood work and a stool test. He told to keep taking flagyl because 7 day is not long enough. He gave me Bentyl to help the cramping. The cramping is the worst part. From a dull ache to sharp pain.
