How to shower

Since c-diff is a disease of the "lower half", so to speak, we find that many of our members cannot refrain from discussing what comes out the bottom end. If you must do it, please do it here.

How to shower

Postby linnyg » Tue Sep 06, 2016 10:52 am

Hi! I am now 11 days into this c-diff thing. Started off on Flagyl, doc switched me to liquid Vanco on day 6 after getting worse, Im on my 5th day of that. I "think" I have the house bleaching & laundry routine down. MY "TMI" questions is this- is there a routine, or step by step "safe" showering instruction info somewhere on the site? I have searched the forum, and other on-line sites and cannot find what I am looking for.
Thanks you!

No special instructions. Just shower. You might want to wash your towels and wash clothes with bleach.

Shower away!

You can also spray the bathtub/shower afterwards with a bleach solution (1 part bleach to 9 parts water). I did that when I had an active infection.

Now I remember that the bathtub drain plug had a slow leak, so after a shower I would close the drain, pour some bleach into the tub, and add water until the bottom of the tub had a layer of liquid. Next I would spray the shower walls with the diluted bleach solution. Then I could leave because the diluted bleach would very slowly drain out of the tub.

LOL, roy. Ive been spraying the shower down with the germicidal bleach, and trying to be as "splashless" as possible while showering.

When I had active Cdiff (with endless D) I sprayed bleach in the shower after I used it and rinsed it (after 15 minutes) , had my own towel and another small towel that I used to dry my bottom witch I bleached right away after drying.
