Pain Killers (not for c diff)

Since c-diff is a disease of the "lower half", so to speak, we find that many of our members cannot refrain from discussing what comes out the bottom end. If you must do it, please do it here.

Pain Killers (not for c diff)

Postby sevla » Thu Jun 11, 2015 1:34 pm

Hi there, this is a stupid question..but am afraid of taking any sort of pills other than Dificid at the moment. A question mainly for the ladies - is it ok to take a pain killer for menstrual cramps while on Dificid? What kind? I get horrible cramps and need something! :(

Hi, Sevla! I'm currently PMSing so I feel ya! My GI said Advil, Motrin and Tylenol were okay to take (I prefer Advil). Feel better soon!

Always check with your own Dr. but mine said the same thing, all those Niki mentioned were fine to take. I used Advil and Tylenol and they really helped me. Hope you do better.

Thank you both! The heating pad helped me feel better but now I know I take pills if the cramps get worse. I don't dare call my doctor again - she is a little tired of my many questions!

My doctor also said that Ibuprofen or Tylenol was fine to take. I took advil every time I had menstrual cramps, even with c-diff. I couldn't bear to suffer with that too! :-)

Thanks, Lisa! I know, right??!! It's enough suffering with one to have to have to endure additional pain/cramps! Thanks again.

Stick with the OTC pain killers recommended if possible. The script ones can slow down the GI tract and cause other problems.
