Only glanced over article but what I read made sense. My younger son had gasteroentertis at the age of 3 mo. -- almost died. After that, he was ill for years. His ped. GI said in a child that young, it "ripped up the GI tract" which would take years to rebuild. At 4, he was fine (except for croup & frequent resp. infections), but at 4 and a half he developed C. diff. (& had it again 6 yrs. later.) He's had frequent health problems since -- but someof this could be genetic. He also smokes, doesn't eat well, etc.
I was healthy (except for allergies & sinus problems) until I had C. diff. 15 yrs. ago (the lst time). Now have one health problem after another since.
Remember, this is one study & doesn't necessarily apply to all people. Also, other things have to be "factored in."
