I originally copied it here but later realized we cannot reproduce anything from Reueters or medical journals without authorization. The source was New England Journal of Medicine, December 3, 2005.

I couldn't find a hyperlink for this story but found three stories on C. diff. in New England Journal of Medicine on Dec. 8.

Tests Won't ID

What I find most interesting about this one is that "standard stool tests won't identify this strain". Those having trouble with negative tests should print this article and take to their doctors.
