Way to go Fire to you and your brother firefighters. How lucky that the cars had not submerged totally and they were all able to get out and on top because, as everyone knows, the power windows and door locks go out as soon as water is high enough to short out electrical system and people are trapped if their windows are up. Most people don't have that little contraption (can't think now what it is called) that you can break a window with. Every person should have one in their car. In fact, automakers should supply one since you can't hardly find a car, truck or SUV anymore w/o power windows and door locks. Of course, even if have one, lots of people can't swim or even float.
Isn't it amazing that a little 11 year old could be so level-headed during such a traumatic time. She sure deserves that medal!
I'm sure you see enough tragedies in your line of work, so all of you must have been so thankful to see such a happy ending. Bet it made your day.
