Re: IBS Question
Yes, I did, but it cleared up on its own, in fact, with taking Pepto Bismol.

Re: IBS Question
Well yesterday went well. Only had WD once in the AM. Ate and felt a lot better. Stuck to bland. Woke today(day 3) to more urgent WD for the first few hours in the AM again. Maybe went 3-4 times I never go past 10am. But today is was pure liquid again. Now I'm extremely run down. Was able to submit a sample this morning at a Kaiser along the way home from our weekend trip. They find me if it was C diff they would most likely call me tomorrow w the news. Otherwise it will take 2-3 days to see the results. Now I wait and hope this stops :(

Re: IBS Question
CM1619,
Be sure you stay hydrated. See CDI - Dehydration.
Let us know the results tomorrow. Know how you feel. C diff is a very wearing disease - in every way.
Best to you.

Re: IBS Question
Will do and thank you Bobbie. I will honestly be shocked if it's not c diff this time. I said this back in August as well though so I assume I'm just always going to fear it. It just has that smell this time. But I'm still only going in the morning and when I had c diff I was going ALL day over 20 times, not just a few and I had a fever and couldn't eat. Today I ate again so these things combined with being c diff free for 8 months is keeping me hopeful. Also my daughter now has a croup sounding cough and one episode of diarrhea in the am (according to my mom who was watching her over the weekend). But I will share the results as soon as they come in.

Re: IBS Question
Well my doctor just informed me my WBC indicates infection at a 16. My stools were more firm this morning until I read that message. Then WD again for the 4th morning now. She seems convinced it's c diff. She said she's still waiting on results from my stool samples. Great.

Re: IBS Question
I'm sincerely hoping that your stool results do not detect c-diff toxins. 8 months is a good amount of time. Although relapses are possible, they are rare after 8 months. However, if it is c-diff again, you will get through it again. I haven't went back to read what treatment you took last, but if I were you, I would want to go with a Dificid taper. Let us know the results, but hoping for a negative!

Re: IBS Question
Thank you Lisa. I was cured after one round of Flagyl and I didn't even finish the full course. It was a 14 day treatment and I had to stop after 12 days bc I couldn't tolerate it. My doc mentioned Vanco would probably be next.
With how easily I got better with just the Flagyl I'd be even more surprised to relapse after this long especially since I've never relapsed before.
I do still feel ill today and it's starting to seem like a bug wouldn't be doing this for 4 days straight.
The only good news is that no one has called me with positive results and last time I had c diff they caked me the very next day.

Re: IBS Question
I would honestly be surprised if you had c-diff. I believe viral gastroenteritis can last quite a few days, so maybe that's it. I'm keeping my fingers crossed for you.

If you don't hear from your doc, call him/her. Sometimes calls to patients "fall through the cracks." Hope it is good news.

Re: IBS Question
Thank you Lisa and Bobbie. I just called and they said it was still in progress. Hoping the WBC was high from a stomach bug and the fact that I just got over a month long cold with a terrible cough.
After this if it's negative I'm going to get back into my healthy diet and cut back sugar. I got a little too comfortable thinking I was in the safe zone but now I know there is no sure safe zone.

Re: IBS Question
So frustrated. Still no results. Just woke up to day 5 of WD. So far it's only been a couple times first thing in the morning but at this point I can't imagine what else this is if it's not c diff. I don't get WD like this with my IBS. I'm so scared.

Re: IBS Question
So sorry you are waiting as well Hledgess. I live in the DC area. The only hope I have is that I don't have a fever, no pain and the WD is only in the morning. When I had c diff it was ALL day long even the middle of the night. I've just never had a GI bug give me WD for this many days in a row!! I sure hope your results are negative!

Re: IBS Question
Yikes, D for a month? What state do you live in? I'd like to avoid the area if possible.
