D Day

Postby justme » Fri Aug 12, 2016 3:11 pm

Well, in 15 minutes I leave to get my urethral dilation. Since this is a new doc, I am very nervous. Hope he's gentle like my last urologist (who retired). I've already taken 1/2 an Xanax and have the other 1/2 in reserve. I took a Macrobid this morning so I'm all set. With me luck and little pain.
Aloha,
Anne

I heard that the Dr you are seeing uses a hose pipe and plunger!
Also mixes whisky and sand in the lubricant so that the bacteria get drunk and stone each other to death.

I love you Roy! You make me laugh (a lot!). Actually, I'm home now. The pain was minimal (new technique and the doc was very gentle).

Anne

Glad it wasn't bad, Anne.

Roy can talk about pain but never experienced - or will - the pain of childbirth.

Hose pipe and plunger. ouch.

Thank you everyone for the support. The doctor thinks I should do this on a yearly basis, so I've got one scheduled for same time next year. My condition is apparently genetic with several members of my family sharing in the "fun" of having a tiny tunnel transporting pee. It doesn't discriminate between the sexes as one of my brothers is also afflicted (as is his daughter). The drug used for men with prostate issues (Flomax) was found to help women with my condition so I take that also, but it isn't a panacea, just a help along with drinking lots of water to avoid an infection.

Much aloha,
Anne

Glad it was not too bad. Sometimes younger doc's have new and better methods.

I'm so glad your procedure went well, Anne! Keep drinking that water. I'm sure everything will be fine.
