Just saw this Beth.
Isn't it amazing how almost anything is good news when it isn't c diff???
Hope you feel "normal" soon.

Agree. Once you've had c diff, nothing else seems quite as awful.

Hope you are feeling better, Beth. Have they ruled out vertigo? You have some of the symptoms my husband had a year or so ago. I have a friend who who has it periodically for no reason.

I have had vertigo in the past, but this was dehydration and the blood pressure fell too low. Later that day it went to high and tonight I had another sudden onset of high BP. I think the vitamin D made it so I have too much calcium in my body and with the parathyroid problems I had in the past and surgery, that is not good. Vitamin D takes a long time to leave the body as well, so I hope I'm not looking at weeks and weeks of this. It's almost like a panic attack. So far, no more D though and all tests were negative for everything, so that is a relief. The nausea from the pancreatitis is better too. I switched brands of vitamin D spray and I am almost certain that one spray of this new one was not equivalent to 1,000 units, but a lot more. You don't jump 25 points in one month! Hope everything calms down, including me.

Thanks for everyone's good wishes. I have to go back to work on Monday and am hoping not to have any more issues.

Thanks, everyone. I'm feeling better GI wise, but way worse otherwise. Blood pressure keeps spiking, having trouble breathing at times, muscle twitching and feels like something is crawling over me, like when I had c diff. I think my calcium level is too high and that can be dangerous, so tomorrow, I will contact the doctor. I don't know what they can do because vitamin D takes forever to leave the body. I can't believe the sprayer was defective and I was taking in so much more than I thought. Not sure how I will manage at work, but hopefully it will distract me. Got people praying, so hopefully I will feel more normal soon.

I went to visit my mom today (95) in the rehab facility and I totally lost it. I was in her room alone with her and started crying and couldn't stop. She really doesn't say anything, except "yes" or No or " I want to go home". She just kept looking at me and I wanted to stop, but couldn't. It's been a long and hard 8 years for me and this is the icing on the cake. I thought my parathyroid surgery took care of everything, but I guess it didn't.

I continue to pray that you feel better soon as well. You are entitled to break down, and we often feel the most comfortable doing it in front of our moms. You have been through so much. I hope that work is a good distraction for you. I hope you get some relief soon. Prayers and hugs to you.

Beth, this sounds really rough. I hope you feel better soon and I hope they can address your blood pressure.

Incidentally, I also had parathyroid surgery. I had mine in 2013.
2010 mod/sev w/leukocytosis, cefdenir-sinus inf, metro rx'd wrong, resurged during tx. recovered w/dose change, lost 40 lbs. 2015 mod recur fr SNF, no abx, resolved w/vanco. 7/2022 mod recur, community acq, no abx, intermittent prodrome but didn't realize

My surgery was in 2013 too. BP has been ok. I think it was my old friend, thyroiditis, that caused that. It's an auto-immune disease. Doctors think the pancreatitis is too. I put in a call to the pancreatic and biliary specialist who had done my tests and am waiting to hear back to get an appointment. Not much they do for that unless it gets really bad and then they give prednisone, which would not be good for me with the c diff history. The calcium tests were ok and GI issues are better on the whole. I went back to work and made it through the week, but the fatigue is incredible. I'm tired when I wake up, tired in the day and when I go to be am not that tired. Go figure.

To make my day complete, I found out that there is someone at my mom's rehab facility with c difficile. I have noticed lately that when I walk through the first door there is this unpleasant smell and the room right there is for someone in isolation. That's why. All I needed to hear. Guess I will be going in the other entrance for a while. It was at the first facility where my mother was that she and I both got c difficile. Don't want to go down that road again!
