C diff more dangerous than Terrorism

19 Americans were killed by terrorism in 2014. That year, 29,000 died from #cdiff. But there's no discussion of public health in any of the presidential debates.

I just read this same thing. It's sad that public health is put on the back burner.

Wow. Diarrhea not newsworthy, doesn't bode as well for the galvanic skin tests. I beg to differ.
2010 mod/sev w/leukocytosis, cefdenir-sinus inf, metro rx'd wrong, resurged during tx. recovered w/dose change, lost 40 lbs. 2015 mod recur fr SNF, no abx, resolved w/vanco. 7/2022 mod recur, community acq, no abx, intermittent prodrome but didn't realize

Hi,
I have talked to the following people regarding c.diff and they did not know what it was !

upstate NY pharmacist
2 chiropractors
Many Doctor office employees : receptionists & nurse aids
acupuncturist
school teacher

I was surprised the folks in the medical field were not aware of this.

I also almost never see bleach germicidal wipes in medical facilities

Especially scary that a pharmacist didn't know.
They are taught potential side effects of medications.
This one is a tad more serious than the average "headache, nausea, etc" that are the common ones!!!

A friend recently spent almost two weeks in a rehab facility here (Boston area) after knee-replacement surgery, and she said the germicidal wipes were being used liberally.
If your illness was preceded by use of a medication, e.g., an antibiotic, please fill out an FDA Adverse Event Report at http://www.fda.gov/Safety/MedWatch/default.htm
