Tired

Postby jds0870 » Mon May 23, 2016 11:17 pm

I'm so over c diff and all the crap that comes with. I don't understand why treatment such as Vanco, Flagyl and Dificid work for a lot of people but for the rest of us we are left to hurt and struggle to get through each day. This is the worst experience of my life medical wise. I grew up having multiple kidney surgeries and even they do not haunt me like c diff does. Since yesterday my youngest has been saying her belly hurts and she has very stinky gas. Instantly the fear takes over and I'm scared she has c diff. Especially since I'm being retested and I'm still hurting, and we share a bathroom. She hasnt had any d yet. But just the thought that her tummy upset is from me and this stupid disease I can't seem to kick. I swear if either of my daughters get this I would completely lose it and never forgive myself. I know in the rational side of my brain it's most likely a little tummy bug. But that doesn't stop my fear. I would take 5 more relapses if it means my babies never have to go through it. I'm sorry worried that this is gonna cause serious permanent damage because I've had it a year and a half. Sorry to vent to much these last days. I just want it to be over. Thank you all and praying for each and every one of you.

I am so sorry you are still struggling with this. But there is no reason your children should have caught c diff from you if you have been following the basic hand washing and cleaning procedures, and I am certain you have. I understand your fears- we all have felt the same way. This is what c diff does to us.
You have to keep up the fight. You will get better. Everyone does. Hopefully you are satisfied with your doctors. You might want to consider whether it is time to discuss a FMT. Whatever you decide, the people on this site will support you.
I am wishing you the best and again remind you that you will get better.

JDS

I understand your frustration, it is very wearing and exhausting. As long as I have been on this site, I have not heard of a family member getting it...I may be wrong but I think it's rare and maybe your daughter has this virus going around. I do know the worry, it is terrible but I want to assure you that you will recover. I don't recall where you are in your treatment or if you have had an FMT?

I wish I had more words of comfort for you. There are times when each of us have reached this point, and we are here to pull you up and out of it. You will get better...

Jerri
I'm so sorry that you are suffering , but I'm sure that your girl will be allright. You have been very carefull with cleaning and disinfecting so I do not think that you gave her CDiff. I'm sure it's just a common tummy upset. Prayers all goes well!

It is simply unfair that you have to deal with this disease and that you do not have a resolution yet. Fighting the situation, the pain and the uncertainty takes so much energy that obviously the idea of taking care of children with this too is overwhelming. Put that out of your of mind and control the controllable. Loving thoughts and prayers are heading your way.

I'm so sorry Jerri that you are still dealing with this. I agree with the others - the likelihood of passing it on to a family member is very slim if you are handwashing and practicing good hygiene. As Nanci said, I don't recall anybody on this site passing it on to somebody else. Did you ever have your thyroid levels checked out? I'm just curious if that was adding to your issues. I am not sure where you live, but are there any of the top c-diff specialists near your area? You've dealt with this long enough and need the right cure once and for all. I think if I were in your shoes, I would go with the proper FMT if you test positive again. Are you currently waiting for the results still?

We are all here to get you through this. And you WILL get through it.

Hello everyone! Hope everyone had a nice weekend. I went to my sisters wedding..it was beautiful! Well I got my test back yesterday. Negative! Thankful to God and you all for listening and bring there to reassure me it would be okay. The ibs lasted 15 days. Longest bout i ever had since c diff. I have to accept after this negative I just have extremely horrible ibs. Thank you c diff. I'm 6 months post FMT on June 16th. I can see I am one with a long recovery ahead of me. But still it's recovery. I need the small things to get me through. Going to look into enteragam and a gluten free diet like Lisa tried. Anything to help. Thank you all so much. I really love everyone on this site. Amazing and kind people. I continue to pray for all of you. I'm so thankful to have found this site. I wouldn't of made it without you all pulling me off the edge. Thank you again. Praying for all

Hello jsd!

I am so happy your test was negative!!! Great news!!! It is so difficult sometimes to know the Post IBS can really be rough...I had a small history of IBS years before CDIFF but it was NOTHING like I have now.
It almost becomes a new normal, things will slowly improve and then I think it will all be behind us. It just takes time.
Thanks for letting us know the good news!

Great news on the negative test! It must be such a relief! At least you don't have to guess if it's c diff anymore. I hope the IBS gets better for you soon.

Congrats jsd! As one who had a really rough recovery I also understand how scary it can be.
And we all know that the fears don't leave. C diff leaves us with things (and knowledge) that others don't understand.
But you are on your way for sure now. Btw, I have miserable IBS but Enteragam is working really well for me.
Best wishes,
Rita

So happy for you Jerri!! Congratulation for reaching 6 months into recovery and a negative test result. IBS is not fun , it can be debilitating sometimes , I still have symptoms of it at least once a week and I've had my infusion done a month ahead of you. I wish you continuous improvement!
