Pancreatitis again
Well, my c diff test was negative, at least I think so. They forgot to run it and I'm hoping it was stored properly. But, my pancreatic enzymes were elevated again showing pancreatitis and it is getting worse. I talked to the nurse with the pancreatic specialist and they will call me back to see what to do. Meanwhile, the symptoms, nausea, bloating, etc. are from that most likely. I am starting the pancreatic enzymes capsules tonight and will see if it helps at all. I never had this before c difficile. I know a few people have had pancreatic inflammation after c diff.

Geez Beth! I'm so sorry you're dealing with pancreatitis! I'll pray for you. HUGS!!
Is there anything they can give you for that? Sorry, I'm not familiar with it.

Ugh! I'm so sorry that you are dealing with pancreatitis again! Do they know why this keeps on happening? There has to be a link between this and c-diff. I wish you didn't have to deal with this ongoing issue. It must be so frustrating. I guess on a positive note, at least you are negative for c-diff and don't have to worry about that as well.
Sending you well wishes and hope the capsules help.

Re: Pancreatitis again
One doctor thinks that the inflammation from the SIBO and IBS is causing the pancreas to be inflamed as well. The IBS is due to the toxins and SIBO from bacterial overgrowth that is giving me the imbalance of good vs bad bacteria and the bad bacteria produces toxins. 4 or 5 years ago they did an endoscopic ultrasound where the pancreatic specialist went in and was able to view the pancreas and he did not see any mechanical problems like tumors, etc. Scans don't show a blockage of bile ducts, but it is always possible. I'm waiting to hear back to what they want to do, but I will start the pancreatic enzyme capsules tonight with dinner and see if it helps. Last time I tried, I got worse, but this is a different brand. I never had any of this before c diff, so I believe the toxins that it produced, which in turn produced the ones for IBS is probably the reason. Everything was better until I had the positive c diff test again in Dec and Jan and then the overgrowth got way worse again (SIBO). Never seems to end.

Re: Pancreatitis again
Beth, My prayers that you can tolerate the enzymes and feel better. It is so tiring to be sick all the time. I pray they find an answer for you. Hopefully this year or next they will come up with the cure and it will also cover all the side effects such as what you have experienced all this time. This is my most fervent prayer for you and all of us. Hang in there, we are all here for you.

Re: Pancreatitis again
This has got to be so frustrating for you. From what you said, there seems to be a definite link to the positive c-diff test and the toxins it produced, since you were doing ok before. I wish to God that there was something that could cure c-diff for good and soon! There just seems to be so much aftermath that goes along with it (IBS, pancreatitis, UTIs, etc.), and it could probably all be avoided if there was just a cure.
Sending well wishes your way and hope you start to feel better soon.

Re: Pancreatitis again
Nurse from pancreatic specialist called. He is booked up for 2 months, but they want me to see his associate meanwhile because this apparently can't wait two months. They often put people in the hospital with pancreatitis. I'm supposed to go on vacation in two weeks. I sure hope it subsides. It has in the past, but this time it doesn't seem to be doing it. I can't remember having this much nausea since my early days with c diff. Will call on Monday to schedule an appointment.

Re: Pancreatitis again
Sorry to hear this. I know how you feel. There HAS to be a connection with c diff and pancreatitis. I have had it 3 times with no other reasons for it. I do hope the enzymes will help you. A specialist will surely be able to tell you how to deal with this. Praying you will get some relief and supporting you from afar.
