I've met more than a few. What do you call them when you add in arrogant and pompous?

Bobbie, I am so sorry about your potential UTI, and surely hope you don't have one!!!!

One of my competent docs told me the following (joke?):

What do they call the person who graduated last in his/her medical school class?
Doctor.

I have met a few of them, including my GI doc.

This condition is more common among specialists (especially surgeons) more than PC docs. After I had my SCA and my cardiologist gave me a long list of drugs I now had to take, I said "how long do I have to take all these pills?". He said "how long do you want to live?" Or my GI when I got C. Diff - "Well, we could send a camera up, but we probably won't find anything". As to questions about diet or how long my recovery would be, he said "Everybody's different". Really informative! Of course, in defense of GI specialists - if I spent my life looking up people's rear ends, I'd probably have a myopic view of the world too.
