Does it ever end part II

I am thinking about doing the fecal transplant at home... Has anyone tried that?

I've done it and so have others. You need to follow a protocol and if you can get your GI to cooperate with you to have your donor tested, supply you with a Rx for saline solution, so much the better.

I just got back from the GI specialist in Virginia . He said I won't need a fecal transplant that the culprit that the hospital has been missing for a year is that my gall bladder isn't functioning and if I get it removed he should be able to clear up the cdiff and it will be all over! I hope he's right I thank you guys so much for all of your continued support. I wish everyone else the best in their journey and recovery. You are an amazing group of people so kind and caring!

I know people who had their gall bladder removed and have more problems with D and food intolerances than before. I'm not saying that in your case this isn't the best thing to do, but if it were me, I'd go and get a second opinion before undergoing surgery. Most insurance companies pay for second opinions.

I too would get a second opinion. Gallbladder removal left me with quite a few issues. Also many have D afterwards for a long time. I would personally want to get the cdiff cleared first with a fmt. I say this because the gallbladder removal may cause other issues on top of having cdiff and they will probably give you an antibiotic before surgery and your body is weaker because of the cdiff. If it was a life or death situation where you had to get it removed then yes I would do it but to do it to try to cure cdiff does not make much sense to me.
