Seven days now post VANCO.
My schedule is about 20 hrs between each BM. That's good.
Still soft (maybe softer), wet, but not the CDIFF shade.
If it's wetter than it should, what could be the cause?
Should I add more fiber?

I'll schedule myself to see the doc next week for a followup.
Will need to talk about my suddenly lower BP (+elevated heart rate).
Could this be an iron deficiency?
Will pickup spinach and lentils will work them into my diet.

So, does this sound like normal recovery?

It's probably normal recovery, but there's no guarantee, unfortunately. If you continue having soft BMs, maybe some colestipol/colestid tablets or questran powder would help you. It works very well for me. I do well with some high fiber foods but not with raw vegetables or citrus fruits. It's so individual which makes it hard to give you advice. I can urge you to not be embarrassed to ask for repeat C diff tests if you feel unwell. There's no reason to suffer from a relapse for 2 weeks because you are trying to not annoy your doctor :). It's their job to take care of you.

Just had the doctor visit.
Seemed to go well... The only symptoms 10 DAYS post VANCO are wetter stool,
stomach gurgling, maybe some gas.
Here's a summary of what to do.

* take another CDIFF test (just to be sure)
If I'm not showing symptoms, even with a positive test, there's no need to treat.
"Treat the patient, not the test"
If it is positive and I feel fine, take another test a month later.
He warned me that even after a negative test I could still relapse.

* avoid BEER and PIZZA but bring other foods back (gradually).
You can't avoid suger. Even the so-called good fruits have it.

* stop looking in the toilet
It could take around 6 months for things to go back to normal -- so don't worry.
(maybe he didn't want to scare me too much because I hear others having
it take longer than that.)

If I relapse, I'll know.

Sounds like a good doc. to me (and so far a normal recovery to me) - gave you advice about what to expect if you do/or don't relapse. " Stop looking in the toilet - at least for awhile" will help your anxiety.

Would do what the doc. says and think positive! You are probably one of the 80% who recover after several rounds of medication.

Best to you. Let us know how you are doing.

Yesterday, I ate some chicken. Maybe that wasn't too good. Then had
ginger tea before going to bed. I chopped up some fresh ginger and poured
boiling water over it.
A bit queezy today, feel that I could make frequent restroom stops -- but I don't.
Drank lots of kefir and I feel better.

19 days post VANCO.
Could this be a relapse? Re-infection?
Or do you think it's the ginger tea or the chicken?

update: seems better now.

Can't say. Chicken shouldn't bother you - normally easy to digest. You are the one who has to ultimately decide. Give it some time. You aren't going to be "normal" overnight.

thx.
More time.
But I'll try to eat more chicken now, even KFC??
Maybe SC makes more sense.

I wonder if you can take too many probiotics?
Too many isn't the right question though because all I got were gas and cramps.
G&S ain't dat bad.
(I took 2 Florastor, 2 "Critical care" tablets, plus kefir, yogurt, and sauerkraut throughout the day.)

Some people get D from probiotics. If I take more than a small amount, I get gas and cramping and D too - but not from all. You have to see which ones agree with you more. I became lactose intolerant too.

Time to start a new thread. I am locking this one due to the length.
