English language

Postby roy » Fri Nov 25, 2016 5:43 pm

I have posted this before but not for many years.
English is a strange language.
It's spread across the globe but many words have been adopted by different cultures and their meaning has been changed.
Let's all compare notes and have a laugh at our own language.
I will start by saying that in UK a Trump means to FART!
Kids are told off if they say they want to fart but it's acceptable to say they want to do a Trump.

Great idea. Boot means the trunk of a car. "We are alike but we are different."
